I absolutely fucking hate it. It offers no features to the consumer, and gives you a level of bloat unprecedented in video games. Having to use Steam AND Games for Windows Live (what a dumb fucking name for anything) is a sick and sad joke.

Apparently there was a patch for BioShock 2. Rather than just let me download the patch like every other video game, Games for Windows Live (still a terrible name) has to be all NO NO I'LL GET IT!!! At least they finally managed to put a progress bar in Games for Windows Fuck Your Cunt With A Razor. I mean Live.

Microsoft wants to bring Xbox Game Pass to PlayStation and Nintendo. Xbox CFO Tim Stuart said during the Wells Fargo TMT Summit this week that the goal is to make first-party games and Game Pass available on "every screen that can play games," and this includes rival consoles.

"It's a bit of a change of strategy. Not announcing anything broadly here, but our mission is to bring our first-party experiences [and] our subscription services to every screen that can play games," Stuart said. "That means smart TVs, that means mobile devices, that means what we would have thought of as competitors in the past like PlayStation and Nintendo."

I clicked on the video and the gal says, I swear to fucking god the gal says:

"We're updating Xbox Live Gold in a few months." I am laughing a bit because, ah, that's the stupid name they are using for it right now? Not Games for Windows Live or the million other names for it? And doesn't the article have the "CFO" saying it is called "Xbox Game Pass" and now the community leader is calling it Xbox Live Gold? What? What the fuck?

Reader, ok, I did not actually laugh out loud because I hate them and their shitty game services, but HOLY SHIT this is beyond parody at this point. The number of dumb names they have come up with for this shit that never works is astounding.

I have a standard Windows 10 machine with a real license and I tried to use their service once because you could play some new game for it for a dollar. It wouldn't install and it had no idea why.

Anyway, I can't wait until it has a new name after this because Jesus Christ, what a stupid name for something. "XPass Core." God.

Out of all the "services" out there, gfwl was absolutely the worst. It was so bad in fact, that the only way to play my legitimately purchased games involved downloading cracked gfwl DLLs.

I stopped buying games that don't have a crack available for a long time now. Whenever I see a game on Steam I want to buy, I first check the warez sites. If it's not there, I just don't buy it.
