No, you stupid shit.pinback wrote:+++NO CAREER
"+++" was the escape string to tell your (Hayes-compatible) modem, "look, bitch, I'm talking to you."
Hence:
"+++ATH0", or "+++ATShortcake_you_are_a_whore" (that last one is in the extended command set, natch).
I think what you are looking for is more along the lines of
Aw~~@$^!@##!~$@~~NO CAREER

Look, let me hijack this thread as hayes modems are as antique as BASIC!!!
As a programmer of games you get paid to program games, right?
therefore when someone copies your games and does not (jeesus I am drunk) pay you for it, you get screwed, right? then how can you condone piracy in general? (RE: the secret download base that nobody knows about)
I mean , every time Chick dig jerks is copied, you lose a bit of blking bling that you might of had, right (jesus I an drunk)
or is it a one time deal that you have, lump suwm payment for the finished product?

I never made any money for Chicks Dig Jerks. I consider my "payment" to be what I got out ofit at the end: in doing research for the role, I became one suave motherfuckin' chick-killer.AArdvark wrote:I mean , every time Chick dig jerks is copied, you lose a bit of blking bling that you might of had, right (jesus I an drunk)
(And of course, what with the game's second half, I became one suave motherfucker at burying the body after said killing of chick.)

Actually, and I fucking hate to say it, Pinback is right... but, and I do like saying this, for the wrong reason.
When a BBS would hang up on you, you would see the +++, but every BBS that would do that (which would mean ones using Hayes-compatable commands - and let's face it, some of us come from the days when there was no such thing as "Hayes-compatable" and hence, there were other ways to drop carrier without the user dialing in to think that the BBS thinks that he's a plus kind of guy)...
Ah, shit, too long of a paranthetical. So, I'll start over, without 'em.
When a BBS would hang up on you, you would see the +++, but every BBS that would do that would then hang up on you without you seeing anything. +++ would put the modem into command mode, which would mean that the commands would be local and not sent to the remote user.

User side:

Jesus, if you you people are going to be a bunch of fucking nerds, at least be correct about it.
(Technically, there may be some obscure command in tha Hayes set to allow remote users to see the local commands on the remote modem, but geez, I sort of doubt it, and if there was, then you'd have to be dumber than Gomer Pyle to use it.)
