What should I cook tonight?
Suggest a meal or an ingredient, I don't care. I will shop for whatever is necessary. No peppers. No mushrooms.

How bout some pruno?
You don't have Tops out there do you? They have a two-pack of whole wheat Bobolli looking pizza crusts for a nominal fee that comes with the sauce. I say you just make a quick but delicious pizza.

I'm not allowed to cook any longer, otherwise I would make that.Jack Straw wrote:How bout some pruno?

As much as I'm daily accused of being a raging alcoholic, I wouldn't even consider making it. Drinking liquid mold cultures ain't for me.
And I like making things. Next project is to still a huge bottle of cheapass wine into a medium size bottle of ultracheap brandy. Once I have that down I can start making potato vodka and moonshine.
Trying to brew beer just seems counterproductive, too much work just for me to drink it all in one night.

I had lamb vindaloo again last night and it was really good, again.
Maybe you could cook veal or pork medallions in a Marsala cream sauce? There's a nice recipe for that in the first volume of Julia's Art of French Cooking and it's not very hard.
It probably calls for mushrooms for the sauce, though.
Fried chicken? Nothing like home-made chicken fried up in your own heavy-ass skillet. Do some buttermilk biscuits with it.

I found a 5-6 pound leg portion, but this was on St. Patrick's Day, and you could tell they had it for the occasion. A better grocery store might have something smaller, but the butchers I talked to only had the whole leg.
Lamb Vindaloo is good, but we get it at the Indian place all the time. Cheaper than I could make it, too.

A delicious idea! The community is finally giving me something back other than a painful, throbbing sensation right above my temples. Excellent! Here is how the community has otherwise affected me.bruce wrote:Fried chicken? Nothing like home-made chicken fried up in your own heavy-ass skillet. Do some buttermilk biscuits with it.

It'd be different, but still quite good, I think.Vitriola wrote:Would it really suck if I used sherry instead of the marsala wine? I know it wouldn't be marsala sauce, but would it be bad? Hunh. Our grocery store usually has other cuts, and the ethnic markets have lots (they have goat too, quite often, which is also fun for a curry).Vitriola wrote:I found a 5-6 pound leg portion, but this was on St. Patrick's Day, and you could tell they had it for the occasion. Of course, since we buy our lamb a whole animal at a time, it's not really an issue for us. Which is *why* I have lamb chops and vindaloo and other tasty lamb treats so often.

Fuck you, Sherwin. Just watch me dump this script file full of elusive and impossible-to-recreate bugs into the recycle bin. Are you watching? Good. There it goes. Its gone. Three years of work invalidated by some bitching little ass clown from SPAG complaining about your buggy game and an offhand comment on a BBS. Think about that the next time you make fun of Vitriola. You shit.
