Never pay full price for DVDs again!!!
This is a circus of savings. OK, you'll still have to pay full price if you want them immediately, as there's obviously a little lag between when you place your order and when they get round to sending them. But still.
The site in question is http://www.columbiahouse.com . They have a DVD link on their page. Also, a CD link and a VHS link. But you are on your own with those, I don't know anything about them.
The first thing to know is that they have promotion codes which are far better than the offers they have on-line. Here's a link to the "DVD Talk Forum." This forum is wholly unassociated with Columbia House.

Here is a link to their FAQ. I'll quickly answer a couple of questions about my experiences, though:
Q: Is this illegal?
A: It's not, not in the slightest. They simply have better deals that you have to hunt for on-line than they do otherwise.
Q: Is this some sort of scam, otherwise, then?
A: Columbia House gets the chance to send you a DVD each month. If you do not either send the card in with a "decline" on it, or call them up and decline your selection or get on their preferred customer list they will send you a disc. You can then, of course, decline it but they may have charged your account already. It's not a big deal to decline. Put it this way: I've entered twice and not had them send me anything so far. And look at me. Just look at me. I'm a lazy sort, eh? Eh indeed friend.
Q: How does it work?
A: You essentially buy the "expensive" DVDs that you want as part of the ones for $0.49 or whatever. When it comes to buying the discs at regular price, you then buy only in the $19.95 range. Let's say you really want to get LOTR, two Lexx discs, C.H.U.D. and Shawshank, for instance. You're better off ordering the Lexx discs as part of the $0.49 deal, because they go for $24.99. Shawshank and C.H.U.D. are both $19.99, and that's the lowest amount you can spend and still have it cost as one of your required discs. (For instance, if you tried using "The Punisher" the joke would be on you because, at $9.95, that's not expensive enough to count. Congratulations! You messed up your DVD club purchase deal... and your life.)
Q: What does it end up costing?
A: On average, you pay about eight or nine bucks per DVDs. Depending on which deal you go for, this could be for any number of DVDs from 7-10.
Q: Are there lists of which discs cost what?
A: Definitely, it's all at the DVD Talk Forum. I'll update this message with specific links, though, in case you'd like to browse.
Q: Sound good. Hey, what cock-rock song will turn you into a pussy the fastest?
A: That'd be "(L.O.V.E.) Four Letter Word" by Billy Squier.

One other update:
This site, DVD Price Search Dot Com, compiles lists for the cheapest price for any number of DVDs. I am putting this here mostly because I always forget to bookmark it myself, but nevertheless.... it's topical like Tropico.
