Merk is entering a competition

Mike Snyder - Merk on here - entered the IF Competition this year and his game, The Traveling Swordsman, took fourth place. Congrats, Mike!

The winner was Emily Short's Floatpoint. #2 and #3 were The Primrose Path and The Elysium Enigma.

There were two games that had really entering things going on based upon the reviews. Andrew Plotkin wrote a game called Delightful Wallpaper that I want to check out and there was also a game that is apparently like a teen slasher flick... but in text!

I find it more rewarding to play the games after people have ranked them, so I think I'm-a going to go do that. Congrats to all the authors!

Thanks! Some have disagreed, but I think this was a really strong year for the IFComp. There were duds as always, but the great games were really great, and the good ones were really good.

Thanks! I think it was a really good year. Looking at the competition, 4th *is* good. My initial reaction was "crap -- I just missed the top-3 *again*" :) But that's passed now. :)
