WED 9:00 MST STARCRAFT GAME

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

This is a reminder that we are playing either Trash or Starcraft at 9:00 Mountain on Wednesday. I can't remember which game we picked.

If it's Trash, type "trash game" into Google and get Trash by Mark Currie and join us. Last I checked, I was /muted from the chat room and Worm, Ben and Gerrit were the only ones able to hear me, so if it looks like I am not on, that's why. If we are in fact playing SC you already have the game so no problem.

Looking back, we were definitely talking Starcraft.

Seeing how I have literally played two missions of Starcraft, I would seem to be at the disadvantage. I am also not 100% certain my copy is legitimate, so time to get legal. Luckily, as Ben noted, it is available in every single store selling electronic devices, even though the game is 9 years old.

I don't need the expansion pack or anything, right?

Ah, chief. I think you can play a TCP/IP game on a warezed version.
Good point Bobby!

I will be playing using the non-expansion pack version.

I suggest we play FFA instead of teams, because with teams, it's just like, whoever gets Jonsey loses.

Fair?

Yeah, definitely. It's especially hard as traditionally whomever gets gerit wins.

Maybe teaming Gerrit with Robb will balance out Gerrit's masterful strategic skill with Robb's inability to differentiate between his own military units and background graphics.

Maybe I should be teamed up with the person who is running a Starcraft web portal. Anyone who would go through all that trouble is clearly the best player in this little group.

Why don't we just do a FFA with homo alliances if people want? Honestly, I used to be able to do a zerg rush on three computer opponents.

I have the ultimate counterstrategy for your Zerg rush. Don't even try that crap with me.

Please Please PLEASE post the replay video on Youtube. That would be worth ten sandwiches and a quart of beer. Or just save it and have me send out a blank CD for burning purposes.

(p.s. I love the spell check built into Firefox 2.0)

Honestly, we are talking ONCE, right when I first got the game. It could have been two, but I could swear it was three. I still remember SPEEDING around the map with my horde. I did two in and the third was pretty fortified so I had to double down on him. I may have been exploiting a vulnerability at the time, or whatever. I dunno. Fuck, I might play protoss for this match, who knows?

er, unless you mean the JC match. whoops, can't delete.

I would welcome the opportunity to work alongside Robb in today's StarCraft match. I'm quite confident he has retained all of his mid-90's StarCraft adroitness.

I think we instantly become the strongest force in the galaxy. There's a spot in Starcraft where you have to get gems and the magic hat, right? I'm on that shit.

If someone knows how to record videos, we will post them. And I don't mean to imply that this is an activity only the four of us can/will engage in: Vark, you are welcome as well. Although I understand having a job and an 11:00 local start time makes things tough. I'm only on a late schedule for the rest of this week and maybe next.

How does it work? I've never played SC online. Do you create a "room"?

Should we agree on a "meeting place"?

Will someone explain to Jonsey how to tell whether he's clicking on a siege tank or selecting an item from the main menu?
