The Base Name

OK, Humanzee Run was not the first thing I picked.

There is a pinball game called, "Theatre of Magic." When you lose a ball right away, this sexy female voice says, "Here... is another ball! and you get another one for free next to the plunger.

They have added that feature to many new pinball games, because pinball is played by 800 men pushing 40 and it's never going to survive otherwise.

Well, the only other name for this base that I could think of was, "Here... is Another (Hair)ball!" but it doesn't look as good as it sounds.

Plus, what percentage of people are likely to know of that sound effect from Theatre of Magic? I mean, really. At least all of us have flirted with adopting a humanzee before.

So anyway, that's why it went this way. Banzai Run is a great pinball game and the humanzee is a terrific pet. I hope that clears things up.

I like the base name as much as I liked when you took away the new font that you had this BBS set to yesterday for about 30 seconds. Which is to say:

It is the WORST THING SINCE HITLER!

(Which is coincidentally what I recommend you call this base.)

I don't remember changing any fonts.

I will say this though. I wasn't going to mention it, because it's dumb and a dumb coincidence, but...

The other day I was checking my mail through Jolt Country. Which means I was seeing if you had written me anything, in other words.

I requested the mailbox be rescanned, when I "Alt-Tabbed" to something work related. When I returned... the mail web page was showing a new font. Times New Roman or something. It was cool.

But why did it do that? I hit refresh to check it out.

... And it disappeared.

I went over to this BBS to see if there were any new posts and there were! Yours about the new font, which you quickly realized was not a new font after all.

Both events happened at exactly the same time. And I don't know why.

(Both the BBS and the mail system are hosted on the same machine though, if that makes you wonder.) Well, it makes me wonder.

It does not surprise me that you hate the base name. It does surprise me that you think it's the worst thing since Hitler. He had MILLIONS OF PEOPLE KILLED, Ben. And to my knowledge, calling this base "Humanzee Run" has only killed one person: Greta Grace Peters, of New Hope, Florida. Sorry, GGP!
