Defcon Nite, 1/19/09!

Post by pinback »

Thanks to IceCreamJonsey and ChainGangGuy for joining us for DEFCON NITE tonight, making it surely one of the top ten DEFCON NITES of all time!

Fun was had, friends were made, but most importantly, nobody did anything to completely ruin the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation which hopefully will continue to be synonymous with the name "DEFCON NITE"!

Special thanks to ZOOKA, a spectator from France who entertained us all with his musings on how America sucks, while we all continued to pummel France with nukes in-game.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

Yes, for starters, he was on a mode where he could see everything, and he wouldn't shut up. He started spoiling the game. As you can see, I had to take matters to the whiteboard:

He told us he was from France, a country so exciting that nobody picked its continent in the game. That didn't stop me from sending a nuke over there anyway, and then a second one when he denied that I sent the first. I don't care if they deny the Holocaust over there, but my DEFCON nukes? Man, fuck the French!

This is what I made at the beginning of the game. Pinback said I was working on the whiteboard instead of putting my dudes up. Well, he was right!

I would also like to say that imageshack.us REFUSED to host this file. I guess it was too gay for them. So I am hosting it on JC.

And finally...

Pinback won the first game. So here's the score. I killed the least people and had the least people die. This is not the way to win at DEFCON.

We played another one where Pinback, Gerrit and I took on three AI bots. I was all set to unleash my arsenal onto the computer-controlled Europe. I asked Pinback to "cover me."

Instead, he withdrew from our alliance and knocked my nukes out of the sky! (I was Asia, he was Russia, so I needed his air space.) Motherfucker!

On the other hand, Pinback did name the AI bots, which lead to this:

Good nite, everyone. And good luck.

This has been... Pinback, Gerrit and ICJ Bring You Game Nite!

Q: Is this real or is this a game?
A: What's the difference?

Strange game. The only way to win is... not to play.

Well, technically if everyone joins an alliance together, we can lob nukes at Antartica. So we can win and play.

(But yes, I did catch your reference.) ^__^

France would be the first place I would nuke if I could find it on a vectorized map.

I was also informed in chat during the game that Albert Einstein invented nuclear weapons.
