POST #1: Downloading from Steam, using a crappy wifi connection at the Marina Del Rey Ramada.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

I think it was Verizon, they send out an e-mail asking their employees (and asked them to ask their friends) not to buy an iPhone2 for a while so that "regular customers" could get them.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Are any of you on Steam? Why don't you disconnect from Steam tonight. Get your friends too as well. Pinner needs that bandwidth!
The guy who wrote the article - a Verizon employee - said that being in a position where he couldn't have an iPhone at work (because of Apple's exclusive contract with T-Mobile) that this was ridiculous.
Oh, speaking of ridiculous, T-Mobile is still running commercials slamming AT&T even though the company is trying to buy them!

POST #4: Downloaded! Unfortunately, it's 8:20 in the morning and I have to go sit at a desk in a small room for 12 hours before we can give the ol' girl a ride!
BTW: What is this a sequel to? Crysis? Which one is the sequel to Far Cry, Far Cry II or Crysis? Is there any connection between this game and the original Far Cry?
What is this I don't even

Played for maybe 40-50 minutes last night. I have four comments:
1. Maybe I'm done with FPS. I mean, I got out into the missions, finally, and came up on a wall, and there were bad guys behind the wall, so I shooted at them, and they died, and... I just sighed heavily. I think I may have shooted too many mans in my gaming career, because getting the energy up to do it again is proving difficult.
2. What the hell is going on here? A little backstory would have been nice. I figured they would have sort of introduced new players who hadn't played Crysis to what the hell is going on here, but no, you're just thrown right into the middle of it, and there's all sorts of characters you're supposed to know about, and a story you're supposed to realize you're in the middle of, and I'm all, wha? I mean, it's still an "everything that moves is a bad guy" thing, but it would be nice to know what the hell is going on here. Apparently I am fighting both a military organization, and a bunch of aliens, which is an unbelievably original idea which has never ever been done before, especially in the most well-known and well-loved shooter franchise in gaming history, though. I can tell you that.
3. Holy Christ, though, is it amazing what they're doing with stuff like graphics and sound. As much as I don't know what I'm doing in the game, don't know why, and don't much care, it is quite remarkable how far the technology has come. I admit to not having kept up with the "state of the art" when it comes to such things, but this is the most amazing looking/sounding thing I've ever seen in a game. Which leads me to:
4. My new laptop is the bestest laptop that ever laptopped. Stay away, you guys, it's mine. MINE!!!!!
