When my sister was little, we discovered that she was insanely good at doing puzzles. She and I ... our brains are just different. She could do jigsaw puzzles by simply opening the box, pulling out a piece and looking at it, and placing it on the table where it belonged. None of that "doing the border" bullshit for her. Me? I would take the pieces and try to build 3D houses out of them and stuff.
When Tetris came out and we got it for the computer, we discovered that my sister could play it forever. Like, literally, forever. She never got to a level that was too fast or too hard. And I asked her one time how she did it and she said, "I rotate the puzzle in my head to know where the pieces fit." That was so mind blowing that I never asked her anything else about the game ever again. But if there were ever a world wide Tetris battle to the death, I would bet money on my sister.
The only reason I play it at all is to hear the little end-level music and see the Russian guys come out and dance. Hee hee! Russian guys dancing! Beep-boop-bilddle-diddle-eep-deep-boop-boop .. BEEP!

That sucks. Was it expensive? I don't know how much a Tetris board goes for. I would think "not much" as pretty much every electronic gaming system known to man plays Tetris at this point, but you never know, it could be one of those odd/collectible ones that for some reason goes for a fortune.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Okay, I gotta reverse the charges if it's not there when I get home tomorrow.
Either way, sucks that it didn't arrive.

I got valid tracking numbers yesterday so I think we're ok. It's in two packages, though.
I am going to play "guess game" where you make a guess and I tell you the answer. How much would YOU pay for a Tetris board ah fuck it.
It was $75 shipped for the board, marquee and bezel. I bet it's costing him a lot to ship the bezel. I am just gonna swap the board into my JAMMA Multi-Williams for now depending on whether or not my girlfriend is coming over. If she is = Tetris, if she is not = Robotron. Let's see if I can keep this up longer than "tidying up" before she visited lasted.

In other news, Tetris apparently has no freeplay mode. NNNNGHHH. I don't really want to shove quarters in there.

You could always add a "add a token" button somewhere on the cabinet. The 1984 Arcade drills holes right on the front of their cabinets. If that's not your bag, I have heard of people (a) adding buttons to the top of their cabinets, or (b) adding switches inside the coin return slots. Both of those are out of sight and shouldn't ruin the aesthetics of your cabinet.
