You're welcome. Per our agreement, once post-editing is permanently restored to this BBS, there will no longer be anything dealing with requiring the user to take a piss. The user will still be able to do so, if they want, just to get the 2 point score for flushing a toilet or urinal after using it.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Offline, Paul has stated that he has begun the process of removing the piss code. Thank you, Paul.
So, as soon as I see the edit button on my posts, I'll pull the piss code.
It's all on you, Jonsey.

Post-editing will never be turned back on.
As a proponent of free, open-source software, Paul has kindly uploaded the source code to his games. We will be releasing a forked version of Tripkey with updates that reflect the removal of the pissing code: functions, methods, arrays and comments.
I'd like to thank the following people for supporting this fork, and open source development in general:
Paul Robinson
Tansin Angarion Darcos
Benjamin Parrish
John Carmack
The Users of Slashdot.Org
The Guy Who Invented Haskell
Robert Flackwell

As soon as Jonsey restores post editing to this BBS, as he made the same agreement to restore post editing as I did to remove the piss code.pinback wrote:Did the piss-code removal make it into this version, or is that the next build?Tdarcos wrote:An update to fix some of the problems is downloadable

Well, that's your opinion. I never agreed to remove the section, Jonsey just declared that I did. So I decided to throw his own words back at him.pinback wrote:Then your game SUCKS. Are you willing to play the game to the point of "CROSS BRIDGE" and tell me your opinion of the whole game? If that's the case, I'll drop the mandatory urinary tract.
There are new hints in the Help section. If you get really stuck, I'll tell you how to solve the first part of the game, then tell me how I should improve the hints. I want to give them an idea but not walk them through the fact they need to use hot water on the fridge after twice trying to open it and hitting it with a sledge hammer.

Sorry, just popped into this thread. Did he remove the piss code yet? I JUST enabled post editing. Will Pinback, Flack and Vark please confirm that they can edit posts? Because -- and no offense, Commander -- I assume you're going to somehow screw the post-edit option up.

If you're going to pour piss down my back and tell me it's raining, next time, don't leave the cans around that say "Concentrated Urine."

Per a transcript someone here sent me, I'm making a couple of changes.
1. There will be a cable box on the TV (it's mentioned in the description of the TV but there's no real box there.)
2. "Put water in hole" will be added as a synonym for "throw water at fridge." after you've struck the refrigerator with the sledge hammer.
It's amazing what you learn about a game by seeing how someone else plays it.

Walkthrough of the game - Intro
Copied from a message in another section.
In Tripkey, there are 4 segments to the game. 1. Get the cottage cheese in the Refrigerator to give you the tripkey. 2. Get to the game exit and find out you need $100 or bribe the gate tender with a strawberry soda to get out of the game. 3A. (Alternative puzzle 1) Warp to Viridian's Department Store, get a strawberry soda and go back to the game exit, only to find the gate pass was dropped into the cube maze, and you need the gate pass by warping to the maze and finding it. 3B. (Alternative puzzle 2) Find the general manager of the Casino, give him a Dr. Pepper before he has you ground into that evening's sausage, go get two more from Viridian's and bring it to him, and he gives you $100, you go to the exit and get a full price gate pass. 4. Use the gate pass to lower the drawbridge to the game exit, and exit to win the game.
Now when you get to part 3, where you're deciding between scenario 3A, bribing the gatekeeper with a soda, or scenario 3B, going to the casino to get the manager to give you $100 for doing a couple of favors for him, is that 1/3, 1/2 of the game or 3/4?
I might point out that part 1, getting the Tripkey means you have to declare war on the cottage cheese, by damaging the refrigerator, then fixing it so that he gives you the tripkey as a reward for saving him and everyone in the refrigerator. That might be more than 1/4 of the game. Considering that you get points for totally unrelated things during the game, like taking a leak the first time, taking a shower, plus in section 3 there are two ways to get a soda; take the vending machine down from the 3rd floor to the first floor where you can now plug it in - after you unplug the display - and buy one from it, or go to the basement cafeteria and buy one there. (You also get points for buying a coffee in the cafeteria for the game to drink.) Also, just like in Patty Flinger if you use the men's room or the ladies' room in Viridian's department store or the casino, you cannot use the other gender's restroom in either place or you die.
