Episode 126 is Online.

This week’s show is all about the Nintendo Entertainment System — the NES, for short. In this episode you’ll get to hear about how and when I got my first NES and what games I used to play. You’ll also learn about the horrible television I used to own, how I built up my collection of 300+ cartridges, and the exact moment I realized my girlfriend was also my soul mate. I also answer questions from callers about Commodore RAM Expansion Units and the best retro computer to bludgeon someone to death with.

I remember not having my spaghetti together when I went to ask the "best computer to bludgeon somebody with" question.

I MEANT to ask it like this:

"Flackwell, I need to know the best old computer to bludgeon someone to death with. I'm thinking the Coleco Adam, because the printer was part of the machine as a whole, due to the on/off switch being there. Anyway, I need to know quickly."

The rambling nonsense I shat out is what happens when you aren't focused, friends.

I only do the show on weeks where there is a Don Rogers show, and the weeks when there's not one.

I'll be out of town all next week so I'm taking the show on the road. I'll either use my laptop or my iPad, but one way or the other the show will go on.

Episode 127 is Online.

Episode 127 of You Don’t Know Flack is all about BASIC programming. In this week’s podcast I talk about some of the BASIC programs I write as a kid along with some of my current Visual Basic and vbscript projects. During the show’s (30 minute, sorry) intro I answer an e-mail about the state of my current arcade collection and a voice message about Satan’s Hollow from Satan himself.

Episode 128 is Online.

For Episode 128 of You Don’t Know Flack it seemed logical to talk about the Commodore 128. Even though I didn't personally own one back in the day, several of my friends did and this episode contains some of my memories of their systems. This episode is a bit sparse in the "extras" department as it was recorded from a hotel room while I was on the road.

Episode 129 is Online.

In Episode 129 of You Don’t Know Flack, I talk about the collection of arcade games (six, in all) that I owned back when I lived in El Reno, Oklahoma. These were the first six arcade games I owned, all of which I sold when I moved out of state. The six machines were: Elevator Action, Mat Mania, Shinobi, Street Fighter II – Championship Edition, Power Instinct 2, and Star Wars.

Episode 131 is Online.

Still on track! Episode 131 of You Don't Know Flack is all about boxes -- not the cardboard kind, but the phone phreaking kind. After covering all the biggies (blue boxes, red boxes, beige boxes, and black boxes) I get into some of the slightly less well-known boxes (pink boxes and cheese boxes) and talk about what finally killed phone phreaking.

Episode 133 is Online.

This very special episode of You Don’t Know Flack is all about ninjas. From wanting to be a ninja in the 1980s to watching ninja movies and playing ninja-related video games, I cover it all in this deadly episode. To add ambiance and set the mood I recorded this episode out in the woods. Was that a good idea? You’ll have to listen and decide!
