Don Rogers on KHUM, 4/27/13
Mike is promoing his show tomorrow with this:
"Tomorrow on Mike's show between 10 and 3, one man's quest to get a radio show, and the pilot episode KHUM doesn't want you to hear."
I guess during the episode, he will be playing clips of the 4/24 show, focusing on me bashing the station, bashing the music, making fun of aging hippies, etc.
I dunno. Whatever. I'll probably tape it in case any of it is funny.

I haven't heard all of the clips, I have to go through it later, but I can tell you that I've heard everyone EXCEPT Retro and Flack.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Don,
Robb Sherwin, producer of the Don Rogers Show here. Yeah, no offense DON but most of us are basically curious if we get on the air, which makes it troublesome because except for Flack and Retro, you shouted (and potted) the rest of us down.

Now that I've edited all down, this is actually pretty insulting and terrible.

Not sure where to start, what to say, and what even needs to be said. Based on Mike's repeated comment of "one man's failed attempt to get a radio show on KHUM," it sounded to me (as someone with no inside knowledge of all the behind the scenes conversations that have taken place, obviously) that the door has been closed. I think his comments of putting the DR show on the air based on listener feedback were said tongue-in-cheek. In fact he set it up by first mentioning that you insulted the station, its music, and its listener base, so depending on support from the station or its listeners at this point doesn't seem likely at this point.
We all know Larry doesn't like or get the show, and since he and Mike are business partners, whatever Mike has to gain by putting the show on in the middle of the night doesn't outweigh the conflict it would create between he and Larry in and around the office. So, I think Mike did what he could do to please both sides. He put clips of the show on the air which pleased you, and he made a mockery of it to please Larry. By asking listeners to call in or whatever also pleases both sides; it makes it seem like you have a chance in getting on the air, while I'm sure he's telling Larry that no matter what feedback he gets, the show will never go on the air.
A week ago I would have said the biggest hurdle in getting the DR show on KHUM was mending fences with Larry, one of two ins you had with KHUM. Based on the clips I heard, that's now just one of four or five issues to overcome.

I understand. In 7th grade I got to sit in for a day with my favorite local DJ. I was on the air a total of 12 seconds. I taped the entire show, still have the tape, and have converted it to mp3 to share with people. In 9th grade I won two tickets on the radio for telling a terrible joke. I still have that recording, too.
