It was fun having you around. Remember the excitement when I got Silver? And then Gold? And then, at least for those couple, magical days, Platinum?
Remember when we watched funny SC2 parody videos, and replays of Retro cheesing me on Xel'Naga Caverns over and over again?
Remember Xel'Naga Caverns? And those hungry, hungry animals?
We'll always have those memories. So this base will never really be gone...
...as long as we remember it.
Goodbye, SC2 base.

Goodbye, SC2 base.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

Looking back and considering the last few years of games, and coupling that with my list from 2005, I probably go:
Zork
X-COM
Robotron 2084
Knight Orc
Front Page Sports Football Pro 98
Bomberman 94
Deus Ex 3
The Bard's Tale
Civilization 2
Fallout 3
Duke Nukem 3D
BioShock
NHL 98
Ms. Pac-Man
I-0
Ultima 6
Freespace 2
Sentinel Returns
Baldur's Gate 2
Asteroids
I gave way too much credit for games (on my old list) where I had fun because I played them with my friends. I think that any game can be considered great if your friends are great.
Duke Nukem 3D was #3 on my old list. But then entire second act on the spaceship was.... eh. Not great. The times I had with it were good times because Walrustitty threw a LAN together.
I look at that old list and it was a good time capsule of where I was but I don't think it stands up very well today.
(It is still better than every single top 100 list in the world, though.)

I meant to say, and didn't:
A game should get "points" if it is fun with STRANGERS. A-holes. Multiplayer scum.
That is what I meant to say. I was making an argument that SC2 was somehow still fun even though a person played it with strangers. In fact, it would not surprise me if they took the ability to play with friends away.

Kill the base, even though there are probably three or four more threads possible with the WCS in full swing. But ya know, SCII just isn't fun anymore: I play arcade, swing a few rounds, but the maps are the same and there isn't any fresh blood.
When I feel like playing a game, I still automatically type SCII, but it feels like a chore to boot it up, look for or connect to a match and then go through the motions.
Aren't games meant to be fun? PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME THAT GAMES ARE MEANT TO BE FUN.
