I got two (2) notices from Youtube today that people had replied to my comments on some Youtube videos. These were both replies to things I'd posted over a month ago, so in each case it took me a while to figure out what they were talking about.
REPLY ONE:
Video: Meshuggah "Obsidian"
My post: "Where are the lyrics"?
Reason why I posted that: There are no words to the song, so asking where the lyrics are is funny.
REPLY: "There are none."
REPLY TWO:
Video: Two fat guys talking about sci-fi, and one saying Blade Runner is better than 2001.
My post: "Hahhahaa. I love Blade Runner, but not even close."
Reason why I posted that: Because I love Blade Runner, but I mean, come on. COME ON. Not even close.
REPLY: "Everyone has an opinion."
So this is who *I* am dealing with on the internet today. One guy who stops by a month later to explain my joke without knowing it, and then Mr. Helpful explaining to the world that OPINIONS!!!
BOUT DONE.

Here's the three things that aggravate me the most on the internet and makes me want to bash my head in.
1- Whenever you get into a debate with somebody and they say "well, that's just your opinion!" NO SHIT. I can't post other people opinions. I post mine. Now its your turn, post YOUR opinion shithead. That's what the internet is. We take turns posting opinions until we hate each other.
2 - Whenever you criticize a movie or a game there's always one shitdick who pulls out the "well, why don't you go make your own" argument.
The other day I saw people arguing over that last Batman movie and one of them said "if you're so smart, why don't you go make your own Batman movie and we'll see how THAT is!" It's such a ridiculous and unrealistic thing to say.
Ok. Fine. Let me go secure the rights to BATMAN. I'm sure WB would give that up to Messageboard Joe. Then I'll raise 250 million, go make a movie and come back in a year so we can continue this argument.
Who made up this rule that you can't dislike something unless you can make a better version??
3 - The word fanboy. In video game discussions, this has become the word that people use to completely dismiss anything they don't agree with.
Man, I don't like the way the PS3's online store is slow.
THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE A XBOX FANBOY!!!
I don't really like Saints Row 4 having super powers.
OH YEAH?? YOU MUST BE A GTA FANBOY!!!!
I think Windows 8 looks kinda stupid.
APPLE FANBOY ALERT!!!!!! APPLE FANBOY ALERT!!!!!

I remember juvenile animosity over derr interwebs between the Playstation and N64, Backstreet Buys vs. N'sync, and the Windows vs. Linux debate has been raging since the first Software Engineer grow a curly, raggedly, unkempt beard.
But this begs the question: has there ever been any interesting conversation in the comments of a YouTube video?
