And ANOTHER one! And it's FREE! And it's not "EARLY ACCESS!"

http://membranesoftware.com/

"Star Commander" is really all you need. It's space 4x at its most streamlined. It's got the ultimate generic name. It's free. It's kinda like Spaceward Ho! without the cowboy hats, and with tactical combat.

It doesn't have typos.

And it's complete.

Approved!!

I know that Bay12 games is the website for Dwarf Fortress.

Do people announce their GAMES there now??

I feel that all the old places you announce a game are irrelevant. That's good, because they all treated their users like shit, but that is not a place where I would have thought to have announced a game.

thanks.

How about a SCREENSHOT SO I can keep these things straight.

The Bay12 forums carry threads for more niche strategy games like Imperia and Remember Tomorrow, yes.

Here's a shot of the Remember Tomorrow map!

Well, Lords of the Black Sun (nee Star Lords) has finally been released.

Christ, what a pile.

So, to review space 4x games that have actually been RELEASED, and not early-accessed this year:

Horizon: SUUUUUCKED
Lords of the Black Sun: SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS

That'd be great if there was this renaissance of space 4x games and they were all terrible. That would make me giggle with angry delight.

BTW, StarDrive 2 is now, by far, my most anticipated space 4x game. Not only does it look the best, and appear to be in the best shape, but I'm going to buy ten copies just to piss off the manchild brigade who are STILL on the StarDrive 1 Slander Tour, accusing the developer of being a lying, cheating scam artist because the game wasn't everything they were promised in the kickstarter.

And they still can't let it go. They're like kids who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas, except it's next November and they're still whining about it. How I loathe them.

Anyway, here's a video and a screenshot (all beta). COMMENCE WITH THE DROOLING:

Alright, maybe just the video because I can't find any screenshots that do it justice.

Alright, well, between StarDrive 2, Star Ruler 2, and assuming it ever comes out and is not terrible (which is a BIG stretch), MxOxRxEx, GalCiv 3 might end up DOA.

I HAVE SR2 and it rules over GC3, and I've seen videos of SD2 that rule over GC3. And the Kickstarter trailer for MORE rules over GC3, though I assume that's all pre-rendered horseshit and that they are just stealing the money.

WHO WILL WIN THE GREAT SPACE 4X WARS OF 2013-2015!??!?! (*)

(*) StarDrive 2. You heard it here first.
