Get outside and run! NOW!

Post by RetroRomper »

Could we get a pin on this thread?

I need a constant reminder that staying inside and not running isn't a choice.

I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to be leaving "notes for myself".
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

Yeah. Stop projecting your poor self-esteem onto all of us, loser.

After walking for a month, I started running the distance between my neighbor's mailbox and my driveway. It doesn't sound like a far distance, but we have big yards so it's more like 1 1/2 yard's.

Anyway, I'm up to 4 mailboxes now, which is my whole part of the block. I would do more but the concrete is starting to bust up where I run and I see people looking outside trying to figure out who or what is chasing me, so I may cool it for a while.

Hahaha, I hear you. Been walking to work every day for the last two weeks. Only reason in the world I don't run it is because I'd look like an asshole doing so.

Back in 2009 or 2010, whenever it was that I was at my largest, I went to the park where I lived and just ran for hours up and down the block. People were out there on the other side of the park enjoying their life, playing with their dogs and kids, having a great time. I was clear on the other side looking like a sweat-soaked a-hole. "I look like a dork," I said to myself. Well, I always do, but I mean, it was REALLY bad. I just had to say, "I'd rather look like an idiot huffing and puffing for two hours to these people I don't know and will never see again than be like this another day."

As it turns out, I never saw them again and never knew who they were. Then I sold the house a few years later, just to be 100% sure.

None of you have experienced the awkward joy of accidently running into a private, gated community at 3am and then meeting eye contact with a half naked woman through her bedroom window.

It has a happy ending though because as with this thread, we BUMPED all night.

We got our new treadmill set up and mounted an iPad directly in front of it on the wall. I installed several music and video streaming apps to make the time go by more quickly. Right now I am watching an episode of WKRP every day while walking. That should keep me going through the spring.
