Air Traffic Control Simulators

I did a brief survey of eight different ATC sims over at Caltrops. If the genre interests you, which it definitely does not, please enjoy:

Peripherally related, I recently purchased an app called LiveATC that streams ATC broadcasts from all over the world. If you like listening to that sort of thing, it's kind of relaxing to leave streaming during the work day.

I listen to LiveATC on an almost nightly basis.

What you wanna do is, also get the "FlightRadar24" app, set it to the same location you're listening to on LiveATC, and watch the planes as they come in and out, and get vectored around by the controllers you're listening to.

Well, that's what you wanna do if you geek out to things like that. Which I suspect we both do.

Haha, that's awesome, I will definitely try that!

LiveATC, along with 5-0 Radio (same idea but for police/fire/emergency frequencies) were the nail in the coffin for my handheld scanner. I'm too far away to pick up the airport from my house now, and everything else fun is encrypted. Yet another one of those "had to be there" things.
