Machinist question for Aardvark

Post by ICJ »

Hey, Vark -- I have been using cigarette cases for years as a pill case. What I'd really like to carry around with me is something that uses strong magnets to close, but also has grooves to keep the mints in line and the nootropics in a row and the vitamins separate.

If I were to design something that could be machined, how would I even start? Would I be using CAD software for this? I remember that when you made my adapter for the Polybius machine, I just sketched it out in Photoshop and indicated dimensions, but I assume you had to completely rework it to create it, which I don't want you to have to do.

Machining things is a super-power. Know that I know that.

Sketch something out that approximates the final vision. scan it and email it to me. We can work from there.

What do you mean when you say 'keeps the mints in line'?

Where do you buy nootropics from? If it is on the same website that sells water filters and dick enhancers, then you may be taking a placebo?

OK. I ended up having the pillcase that I was using confiscated in part by the TSA when I flew to New Orleans. What happened was that I was using a cigarette case, and the case contained a lighter. (This was something I bought off Etsy.) TSA people -- in the past and with other, similar pillcases of mine -- have seen the lighter and freak out. I show them that the lighter has never had gasoline in it and they let it go.

Wellllll I just assumed that the lighter in this case didn't have lighter fluid in it. The TSA drone clicked it, and it started right up. So I guess I give them credit for doing their job, if you buy into the fact that they are even remotely necessary, which of course they are not. I had to chuck the lighter. Which is fine, but the way the case was created, the lighter was the "top" of the case. So now the pills can all fall through.

If a pillcase is too deep, the various pills and mints will collect in the bottom of it. An ideal pillcase is just tall enough so that one layer of ibuprofen and Altoids fit, but they can't stack on each other.

I'll attempt to sketch something out in the coming days. Thank you for even considering this!
