Too Many Cooks

This is one of the stranger things Adult Swim has ever shown. I was transfixed.

I watched this like 20 times the day it came out, and another 20 times the next day showing it to other people. I just saw Too Many Cooks t-shirts available for sale and thought... eh, already over it.

This is the sort of thing I should really like.

And the song is catchy.

But I think that after watching all those Red Letter Media videos, seeing a serial killer take up 50% of the thing's run-time, I was like this through most of it: -__-

I didn't originally reply to the thread because I had no real take or opinion and maybe I am dead inside.

That is a very catch song, however.

I guess the thing is, that video doesn't really give people anything to talk about after they've seen it. Yep, that sure was creative. Yep, the guys who did it are very talented. Yep, it certainly got weird and dark.

Maybe I am dead in-- maybe *I* am the one dead inside? I felt pandered to.

Part of the fun is that it originally aired in the middle of the night (4 a.m., I think I read) so... can you imagine just flipping channels and running across that in the middle of night?

I think most of us here are somewhat immune to bizarre web humor for the sake of things being bizarre. I liked the video because you think you know where the joke is going and then it takes a weird left turn. Some of the jokes were dead ends like the space cartoon, but overall I like the weirdness of it all.

COOOOOOL.

I'm a few years too late, but that was great...funny, weird, dark, all those things ICJ said about it years ago. I was glad the topless chicks didn't get killed by walking, machete-wielding TDarcos.

TD's more of a "slow burn" serial killer, the kind that feeds you taco meat without the fat drained off for 20-25 years and then shouts "aha!" when they start having chest pains.

I had to stop watching it after about a minute because I thought it was only going to be a joke on too may people on the show. then I came back here and read the rest of the posts. I went back and watched the almost whole thing with the sound off (because that's how I normally watch videos) and it was much better.

This was clearly an over-the-top parody of 80's and 90's family sitcoms. The first list of members of the family was of the "tastes like diabetes" overly saccharine sweet, wholesome lovable family, you want to paste every one in the face with your fist. Then it does a second list of characters from the workplace which was silly. But then a third group? Over the top and I stopped watching. At that point I think they had more than 20 people. No 1/2 hour show could hope to handle that many characters all at once. It was funny but it was obviously ridiculous by the 1:45 mark

Well, it changes if you keep watching. But you won't understand it anyway, so probably best you bailed.

I would like to suggest a new thread in which Tdarcos reviews movies after only watching the first 1:45.

Your patronizing attitude does not bode well for you. Does this item ever turn into anything except constant repetition of more-and-more alleged cast members of this fake show until you have enough people listed you could fill a school gymnasium bleachers? (I almost said 'fill a stadium' but that would be piling on.) This skit reminds me of you guys complaining I'm too long.

Yes, when I said "it changes", that is what I meant.
