In the mid-90s when I kicked up my Star Wars collecting, I decided to start collecting signatures. I went to a few cons and ended up getting five of my carded figures autographed by the actors that played them: Darth Vader, Boba Fett, R2-D2, C-3P0, and Chewbacca. As of this week, four of those five actors (David Prowse, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and now Jeremy Bulloch) are now dead. I think the takeaway here is you might want to put Anthony Daniels on your 2021 death pool.

PS: In the 90s, signatures of actors that appeared in Star Wars and played characters without names (ie: "Rebel Guard #2") cost $10. Signatures from people who wore masks in the movies cost about $20. Signatures from main actors cost $50-$100. I think all of those prices have doubled since then.

Well, she wasn't alive but my dear Bravia was smart, thin, fast, and beautiful and I loved her for 2 months before a tragic remote control throwing incident took her away from me (entirely my fault, still kicking myself). Ten vertical lines on both sides of the crack will never go away on this particular screen. I do kinda miss the days when TV's had strong glass tubes that if I threw a remote at it then the remote would likely break before the screen.

Her replacement, a curvey Samsung shipped this morning but somehow she expects to take 2 weeks to get here. Thankfully I procrastinated about donating my old TV so it'll get me by. I still need to fix my LG Plasma 3D which I just can't part with yet (Y-control board is just waiting to be installed).

I was going to take a pic of her at the dumpster but by the time I came back out with the box a mexican guy was already loading her into his van. He took the box too. I could have gotten her fixed for about half of what I paid or taken the time to part her out on ebay or craigslist but I don't have time for all that hassle. Glad she didn't go right to the dump tho, maybe she'll make some mexican family happy this christmas.

We all need to know what prompted the remote throw.

I will tell you the last time I threw a remote. Joe Horn was playing for the Saints. Lemme see if I can find the play. I think it was against the Buccaneers. I think the refs took his game winning touchdown away.

Ahhhh I can't find it. I missed my TV at the time and realized I needed to chill a little bit.

Ah. Phil Luckett. One of the worst officials in NFL history who I at least give credit to for getting out. (I don't blame Luckett for the Lions/Steelers game where Jerome Bettis started to say heads on the coin flip and then changed it to tails - make the fucking call you fat bitch and be a man about it. What kind of asshole changes his call mid-flight?)

And actually, compared to a lot of the officials working now I'd much much much rather have Luckett back there. He at least apologized to Horn when he ruined that play. The incompetence you see now, there's no accountability.

I've changed my mind. He wasn't bad at all, just unlucky. BRING BACK LUCKETT.

Joe Clark the tough principal. Too lazy to post a picture

"They used to call me Crazy Joe, now they can call me batman"

That guy. He looks nothing like Morgan Freeman

Thanks to Aardvark for bringing that moment to my memory, which resulted tonight in this:

It's a late and possibly repetitive pick but still accurate. I had to Google Betty White just to be sure it wasn't her. Gavin MacLeod and Ed Asner seem to still be alive as well so it might not even be a Mary Tyler Moore Show alum.
