I was into hockey in high school. Somewhat. My team back then was the Philadelphia Flyers. (A few years ago I came to the realization that it is stupid for me to be a fan of multiple teams in cities that I have never lived near, so I abandoned the Flyers and made the Sabres the team I follow.) I started my freshman year at Syracuse in the fall of 1992 and everyone on my floor was a hockey fan. We had a fantasy hockey league among us!

So the 1992-1993 NHL season will always be my favorite in a way that I can't really say applies to anything else. Muckler was the coach of the Sabres that year. Pat LaFontaine had 148 (!) points and didn't even lead the league, cancer-stricken Mario Lemieux did.
