They have graduated lines in the parking lot from 12 inches up to six feet. If you can projectile vomit past 48 inches the next meal is free

There's all these wild goats that come out and graze when they aren't playing golf around them. Obviously I'm not a golfer.

Keck Observatory is on the menu!

The big dipper is upside down because Im on the far side of the Earth. No wait, I'm just half in the bag, my bad.

Saw my first moongoose, digging in a trash bag. I thought it was a rat until it sat up like Rikki Tikki Tavi

Update: the observatory is not open to random mook tourists like me. The new Thirty Meter proposed obsevatory is being boycotted by the locals, don't bring the subject up, they get all disgruntled and upset.

A rather unique road sign, nothing you'd see in New York.

Well, the last time there was actual lava was the 2018 eruption, much to the relief of the locals. Pele doesn't do tricks on command. I guess I could have thrown a bottle of gin down there but, come ON, let's not get crazy.

From Wikipedia...
In 1932 during the Great Depression the Inter-Island Steam Navigation Company was going bankrupt after expanding the Volcano House to 115 rooms. Lycurgus bought it back for $300 in a receivership sale, but very few guests showed up until an eruption in 1934. He started the tradition of tossing gin bottles into the volcano, a practice certainly not approved by park officials.
