Bill Walton died after a battle with cancer. He was 71.

He is also the single largest factor as to why I don't particularly care for basketball.

As I grew up, I got more into sports. Walton would announce games. A lot of them. Seemingly, to me, all of them.

He ... how do I explain this. The actual sound of his voice was unpleasant. Like a wraith moaning in pain through a mile of an underground tunnel used only ever for molestation. What he said was oftentimes stupid, bizarre, senseless, needlessly critical. If you spent any time thinking about it, it would ruin the flow of a game.

I'm not saying he was a bad guy. I'm saying that he made NBA games measurable worse. I could not, would not choose to be in a room where he was the color guy for a game. And, like the NFL with Joe Buvk, he was EVERYWHERE.

I will never understand it. Again. Sorry this happened. If the cancer just took out his voice that'd be something else. This is terrible.

Just got notified, love the joke. Crap, I didn't even watch that season of Picard till she was prolly dead. Didn't research but guessing Pancreatic cancer, that seems to be a thing with actors.
