We went looking for humpback whales, the dolphins were a bonus. That was about a mile offshore from Kona

Darwin's warm shallow pools where life began.
Actually it's a preservation area where uniquely evolved things live nowhere else on Earth. There's lots of places like this

A tourist and his carry-on luggage fell out of an airplane and landed on the beach. They just left him there, that's how laid back the locals are.
Actually, its a homeless guy, fried on weed and fentanyl. There are worse places to be homeless than Hawaii

Some local kids were swimming and jumping off the dock railings while we were waiting for the whale tour boat

Found a local joint that serves Hawaiian garbage plates (although they don't call it that)
Hawaiian pulled pork, rice and fries. Not pretentious tourist food but damn good.
And not a can of Spam in sight!

The natives call this carnivorous tree Pok'ou dO'oo walukalume'o
Which means 'don't stand over there, fool!'

Coffee, with a view.
Getting jacked on 100% Kona. Might have to run down that hill and jump in for a swim!

Nothing like park benches and outdoor stairs to make one enjoy jetways and real padded terminal waiting lounge seats
They need more tourist money to upgrade the Kona airport above 'third world' status, that's all I'm saying...
Now in San Francisco, 5AM
