It's due to my proper diet, exercise and sleep regimen. Or it could be God is punishing me by making me live a long time, you know, "Only the Good Die Young." Only I can't believe that because I'm an atheist.

Halladay died crashing the ICON A5. The plane looks like an unflyable piece of shit, its head designer and director of engineering died crashing one earlier this year.

We don't know for a fact that he died crashing it. He could have died while it was in the air.

That was exactly how John Denver died. One of the controls he needed to access on his plane was the fuel tank control, which instead of being in the usual place directly in front of him, was in an awkward position, behind his shoulder. (He had bought the plane from someone who had built it as a kit.) He couldn't reach the fuel tank switch in time and the rest was history. He also wasn't supposed to be flying; the FAA had revoked his flight clearance for having too many automobile DUI incidents and failing to refrain from alcohol use, although he was not drinking when the crash occurred. The unreachable, mandatory critical control in his plane meant he was a dead man the moment his primary fuel tank ran out and needed to switch to auxilliary.
It is entirely possible, absent investigator's reports, that this guy you're referring to now could have died from any number of causes, from bad design, pilot error, intoxication, insufficient sleep, to aircraft malfunction. One or more of these could be the cause.

John Denver had too short of arms. T Rex had the same problem. S'why they all died out too

I never actually read the NTSB report of this before. That has to be the dumbest plane crash that ever was. If at any point, even before he stepped into the plane, he had done anything other than the dumbest thing possible, it wouldn't have happened.

So the reserve fuel cock was really behind John Denver? Not that I doubt anything Commander posts here, but...
I'm just too apathetic to look for myself.

It's not that he couldn't reach it, he didn't know where it was. And he took off with both tanks under 1/2 full.
Well, he won't make that mistake again.

Someone once said something both obvious and shocking. If you are over 30, every dog you knew or played with as a child is dead.
