Works fine here. I would suggest renaming hugor.exe to overbrook.exe and getting rid of the bat file. If you do that, running overbrook.exe will automatically load overbrook.hex.

Also, 3.0 was released a while ago. So you might want to update:

I will do that. Also nobody play it yet because there is a game-breaking bug which will spoil the experience.

I beat it. I got six points. I do not know if it is possible to get more.

The max is five. That was a bug which has been fixed.

I see. Once your little buddies get the high score, you change the rules to make sure others that come later can't exceed it. I didn't realize this was the King of Kong.

So I'm guessing the optimal path is *not* getting every point available on the estate and then hurling oneself into traffic?

That is the intended story arc. You won the game!

Hooray! Anyhow, it was very funny, which is not surprising. I look forward to the next game you write in 20 years that looks back at THIS time with poignancy!

Four out of five. I suspect there's something else I needed to do with the bunny and or hamsters. There was no microwave option.

Why do you have a ladder on the wall of the Fun Room?

I have that ladder there because it was there when we moved in and hey, free ladder.

Is... do I submit this to someone? It's dumb and pointless, but it's certainly more fleshed out than my most famous terrible work, so... I dunno how these things work anymore.

I want it recorded that 25 years later I made another text adventure slightly more interesting than the other one.

The most famous being Annoyotron? It's going to be weird when people start writing sequels to this one, too, and all these games take place in your house.

Yes. I think we put it on the IF Archive. And then I would be happy to make an announcement for you on the text game forum. I will warn people that it is a walk through and not a game. And these people can see how you live. I personally think it is important that people know that Hugo is still being used every year.

This would be a great addition to the real estate market. Not just a simple gallery of pictures but an actual challenge ( sort of) to make your way through the house you may want to buy. Brilliant! If nothing else, there is a lot of raw talent on this board

What a fun tour. It's the closest any of us will ever get to seeing it. I was disappointed I could not talk to the tree, which is 100% something I would do in real life. If I were homeless, sleeping in that playhouse would seem pretty tempting. Other than living on a street full of crazed drivers, it seems very pleasant.

Three points, and I had to wake up to get one. I think I visited every room, and could not figure ot where the other two points are.

They've already started doing (something like) that here. When a house has a "for sale" sign on it, some of them will have a sign that says, "Take a virtual tour of this house at www.13670RainAve.com" the website - fictional in this example - is the house's address. If there is a virtual tour software pckage, all they have to do is take the pictures, then post them to the website. Domain registrations for 1 year are only 3 bucks, you can buy unlimited hosting for another $3 a month, so the cost (not including the website software, and there might be some open source system, like Wordpress or some other platform app might work) is less than $150 for three years to set up, and $3 for each house.

Did you interact with the other characters in the game?
