Someone rated me less than 5 on Uber

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

I've never been anything but the absolute most perfect rider, so to think some miserable cocksucker rated ME a 4 and a 3 is beyond belief.

I thought we were all just rating one another 5 unless you killed someone.

Fine, I'll use the entire spectrum now, you idiot lowlifes.

Outraged, I would like to know the Uber scores of the denizens here.

Er....it's been a few years since I used a ride share service. I always left a five dollar tip, even if the Chine...Asian chick drove the wrong way and bumped my head on the roof because she went over a speed bump at thirty.

I better be a five star AArdvark

Had a bad short ride the other day, the guy intentionally missed a turn to make the ride longer then updated the price afterward. If you don't want to do a 5 minute ride then don't accept it dickwad. Needless to say no tip and pretty sure we dinged each others score. Uber refunded the ride.

Last 2 Uber Eats orders, first one doesn't show up, second one is wrong, both refunded + $25 Uber credit. I will say that Uber and Uber Eats have both been horrible for me lately but at least Uber seems to clean up their fuckups by throwing money at it.

Oh yeah, Uber Eats is a fucking mess. Never had food delivered in less than two and a half hours. "It's not the driver's fault!!!!!!!" and I would have accepted that before these bitchkins rated ME low.

I have heard some people say that it disgusts them that people use these apps to deliver food and I would like to talk about it, PLEASE.

In Florida we had one vehicle, a KIA van that could carry 8 people. Except there were nine of us. It has one of the seat belts slashed. Because Wyatt's car seat can plug into the little metal brackets that non-child-raising people don't know their cars have, and people who do use car seats know are there, we made it work as best we could. We still had to have the other two nephews sit on each other for the drive back to the airport.

My wife went to go grab her aunt in Tampa one day, leaving everyone else without a car. We did walk to the Splash Park, which was a couple miles away and that was fine and fun. But when we got back to the house there was still no car, so we had some food delivered.

Unfortunately these apps don't have their act together, it took two and a half hours from the time I decided "let's order food" to when I got people accepting where it was gonna be from, when I tried to use Grubhub and gave up because they are a nightmare that never works, all culminating in a Hot Chicken place.

But anyway, there ya go. I ain't had no car, Lieutenant Dan.

Also, I will now be applying strategy to Uber ratings, and I know I am not blowing this out of proportion.

I will give a tip, fine, whatever, but I will wait to rate. If I see my number go down, or be anything less than a five, then whoever I last rode with gets a one. I MIGHT make it so that they get whatever new non-five rating I got, but this is one insane person's rage against an app, so I am okay with being a little crazy about it.

Revenge against all odds!

The only time I’ve ridden Uber was when someone else arranged for it. Didn’t tip because ehh I don’t know how this works. Did the person who bought the ride tip? Dunno.

The one time I tried to get one myself the Uber app kept crashing on my old phone as I was being kicked out of the hotel in Denver at Robb’s wedding. At the last minute, installed and used the Lyft app instead. Gave the chick that picked me up 5$ tip for a less than 12 dollar fee.

I have no idea if I handled any of these situations well. The Lyft chick saying “you can ride up front with me” while shooting the shit about the area was worth the 5 tip as well as just getting me to Robb’s house to catch a plane later which was all I was desperate for.

At one point, Uber's "thing" was $25 rides to anywhere, no tips allowed. That is how they got their foot in the door... I think. Maybe my memory was bad. Then they added tipping and stopped covering the real costs of the rides. Same stuff Amazon did, blow through billions to get mindshare.

After Jiz bumped the thread, I took a look and I am "up" to 4.67, so presumably, someone in Florida gave me another 5. I'm a five star man, so that makes sense. Maybe I shouldn't try this contingent attack rating thing. Maybe that's insane.

You didn't get down to a 4.67 with this being the first bad rating. Come on what's really going on ICJ?

It was my intent to make it clear in the first post!

I had a perfect 5 rating before October of 2022. Two people, presumably in San Francisco, gave me a 4 and 3 from earlier this month. For NO reason.

It's possible the first Uber trip I took in Orlando last week was one of them, but I doubt it.

I have apparently only ever used Uber 10 times. I am more of a Lyft guy usually.

114 is the number of rides from a guy that does not LOVE his cars.

Is .... is that it? Do ya not love your automobiles, CO?

Interestingly most of those rides were from when I had a car. Honestly, you can't live in the Bay Area and not use Uber frequently.

I have learned somethings.

Apparently, Uber riders will promise a tip "through the app" and not give one. So drivers automatically rate people 4 if there is no cash tip given immediately when you get in, or a pre-paid tip that shows up when you request the ride.

So this is "erosion by douchebags" and the downside of SF having quick pickups is marred by UBER DRAMA and UNWRITTEN MORES which I could not care less about. What a bunch of fucking losers.
