The Comedian

Post by Jizaboz »

Recently found out one of my favorite comedians is doing a show in GREENSBORO around the 2nd week of January at the Comedy Zone. The entry fee is 25 general and 30 for VIP. I've been to the location before and totally know pay the extra 5 and show up early. It's a very small local venue. Pretty good chance I'll get to meet dude afterwards or even before the show.

Who is the comedian? Jaime Lissow. He was a guest on the Gutfield show which for the record is the only show on Fox News I enjoy (it did beat out the ratings of all other late night shows in the same time slot at both 11 and 10 so there is that). Jaime is a divorced man from Alaska. Hottest comedian from Alaska because.. he's from Alaska! Did I mention he's divorced?

Bought the ticket last month. My co-worker did not. Looks like I'm going by myself true Joker style lol

It was a blast! I had my own little table near the front to myself and everything. The margaritas were 12$, but they were good so I splurged and had 2. First one definitely took the edge off as I was a bit jittery when I first got there.

You could definitely tell it was a Fox News watching crowd. The first comedian actually ripped into them pretty hard because of it lol. Basically, 90% of the crowd were white married couples all of which were at least 10 years older than me.

At the end of the show he said "I don't have much time before the next show but if you want to come up here and meet me and take a picture or buy a t-shirt that's cool.. or you can just fuck off and leave." Said it was good to meet him and good show and introduced myself real quick. Then I stood to the wrong side of him and he was like "Can you come to the other side? Actually I'm really good at this but only with this arm. It's my masturbating arm" which is why I'm cracking up so hard in the picture.

That's pretty cool. I've met a few stand up comedians before and after shows and most of them don't have anything else to do except be at the club or be at the hotel so they're usually down to chat or whatever.

When I was 19 or 20 I went to this open mic thing at a coffee house just to watch and there was a guy there who did a couple of stand up routines. At some later point he came into Best Buy and I helped him and felt like he was a super famous star or something.

The only bit I remember from the guy was that he decided for an entire day just to repeat back everything everyone said to him. He said that night he got pulled over and he kept repeating everything the cop said. ("Can I see your ID?" Can I see YOUR ID?" "Do you know how fast you were going?" "Do you know how fast YOU were going?")
"I failed a savings throw and now I am back."

I believe I have just had a conversation with one stand up comedian. It was 2018 and we saw Dana Gould. I wanted to buy a copy of Gex but I don't think I got it in time or at all. (He played the part of Gex.) I thought that'd be a cool thing to have him sign.

I managed to stutter out a "I loved your show, I think you're the funniest guy in the world" and I bought the flyer he had for sale at his show. He signed it. My beautiful wife then had a normal conversation with him for a little bit because she was not intimidated by that beautiful man and his beautiful mind.
the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey!
