1080. I recall hating the controls and said the game was lame AF after already spending hours in Coolboarders 2.
Now replaying with a good N64 emulator on a super PC, I'm realizing this was a solid game. Cool music. Decent physics and shit for the time. But even playing it with a xbox style USB controller I still can't help but feel this game is just weird in the trick department.
Nearly every game of this sort as Flack can testify to involves pumping or getting ready to spin as you go for a jump (holding or tapping left or right or R or L trigger), letting the spin animation rip, then stopping it. Stop it in the wrong place? Fall. Simple. A lot like real life really.
1080 is a whole other game when it comes to simply spinning. Spinning in this game is like doing obscure fatalities in Mortal Kombat or later Samurai Shodown games lol. Hold Z (I mapped to R2) a bit to speed up, hit A to jump, now hold R1 while rotating the stick 360. Cool, want to spin more? OK, start over. After rotating the stick with R1 do it again BUT NOT TOO FAST because you gotta release R1 and hold it again before the rotate WHILE you hit B for the first time. Wanna 900? OK same again but now hit right and B again ssssshuuut the fuck uppp lol
