Teaching games.

Post by pinback »

I hereby offer to play teaching games (as black), simultaneously, against whoever wants a little help with their game. Just start up a new thread indicating your first move, and we'll get the party started.

One thing I'd like you to do when you make your moves is state 1) what the move is, and 2) what your purpose is in making the move. This way we'll be able to learn by honing the thought processes involved in making the moves, rather than just learning "good" moves by rote. I will do the same thing in return.

CAVEAT: Among actual, real life chess enthusiasts, I am nearly on the bottom rung of the Ladder of Skill. Therefore, if you follow all of my advice to the letter, and really work at the things I teach you, then one day, you may, like me, be able to achieve the goal of being a really lousy chess player.

For instance, when I go on ICC (internet chess club), I am usually stuck playing computers, because there are rarely any actual humans on there that suck as bad as I do.

OK, sounds good. The chess notation thing is funky, but it helps matters if I explain the move and describe it properly.

I can't promise that I will be able to respond every 2.5 seconds. But I probably can.

I'll start a new thread.
