Trash Reviews
I demand that the Trash players in this forum all write non-flippant, reasonably thoughtful reviews of the game in this thread.
I demand it.
I demand it.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

I enjoy it very much. I'm a moron, I guess. I like:
o to rhyme
o my beats funky
o being spunky
o my oatmeal lumpy
o Simplified real-time strategy games that might as well be called "Deer Hunter: the RTS"
But mostly lumpy oatmeal.
I know that there are barely any units or resources or strategy, at least seeing how I lose every fucking time. And maybe the fact that I am impressed with Mark Currie for giving us Chopper Command AND this in the same non-reincarnated body...
Ah, even if it is mostly right place right time I wouldn't hold it against it. It's better than Darwinia, anyway, as nobody from Darwinia ever /muted me.

I think there is just as much strategy as any of the other real time strategy games. Pinner was touting a really great turn based futuristic game awhile ago, we all could start playing that.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:I'm not saying I'd be any *better* at it. But right now it doesn't take any strategy to kick my 0.0 ass, so I'm not exactly -- as a victim -- inspiring strategy in others.
You just need to have units in queue pretty much constantly, that's your only problem with the entire game as I see it. I also thought your post was negative, so I responded like a cunt.
You guys are going to have to catch me early next time you want to play. As I've got other stupid ranked gaming responsibilities.

sooooooooooooooo
No one wants to play Civ IV, or Battle Grounds (the Revolutionary War HL2 mod). Anyone wanna regress to trash or suggest any other RTS games? I'm sure we could all warez something older and have a JC GAMING EXTRAVAGANZA!

You're gonna want to scroll down to BG2. I have lots of fun with it. It's better than the frentic "I know a trick you don't" play of Counterstrike. Basically, it's a revolutionary war team capture the flag.
Sort of designed like BF:1942. Prohibitively long reload times (but not realistic), your gun needs reloaded if you submerge in water, and most of it comes down to fun bayonet combat. It's got a 3 class system, soldier, scout, and sniper. British have a slightly more accurate sniper, but 'mericans have one with a bayonet rather than a knife. Has at least 30 players split across at most three servers at any given time. Some maps have terrible design, and quicky degrade into a revolutionary shitfest, which is perfectly fine for everyone who hates America.

What a strange moment.
I spent the day buying a new computer, and throwing Civ 4 in the shopping cart just for fun. Then I played some Civ 4.
Then I was looking around for other stuff to install on the new PC, and I happened to find Trash -- ah, yes! I remember that game.
So I installed it, and was ready to play it, and was gonna come on here and go, hey, like, who wants to play some Trash?
And bumped to the top of this base? A thread about Trash, including some Civ 4 talk.
Is that wild or WHAT?
PS: Civ 4 looks to be a fine rendition of the game which I have bought three times now and played about ten times total, because goddamn is it complicated and does it take a long time.
Where's Minesweeper.

I'm pretty much free to play between 9:00PM-3:20PM and 12:00AM-3:20PM on Wednesday and 12:00AM-6:30PM on Fridays. I'd be up for Trash or Civ IV anytime. I'm meaning to dick around on WoW or some other MMORPG so I might not be available all the time.
As for Civ IV taking a long time. I'm not sure. It's my first Civ, I've managed a single Noble win and usually play on epic speed, which equates to about two sessions that run a few hours.

I would enjoy playing a game of Civ IV with Ben, Worm and Gerrit (and any others) sometime this week.
I would also enjoy playing a quick game of Trash with any of the above as well.
Could someone aid me? I am looking for Ben's review of Trash. If someone knows where it is and can point me to it that would be GREAT. You'd be helping out some great kids in the process.
