A guy disassembled and commented the source code to Donkey Kong. I can't even begin to digest that ... and now it is revealed that he added some levels and eliminated the kill screen and made what he called "Donkey Kong II."

I went from not knowing about it to needing it more than anything else in the world in less than two minutes, ho ho ho!

I put an ad into craigslist on Friday for a "gutted Donkey Kong cab." Basically, I want to run DK2 when it's available. But more than that, my MAME cab is just about finished and I want a new project for the winter. I really liked the painting, woodworking and restoration aspects of taking an empty cabinet into something that is nice to look at and use.
Today, a guy posted an ad for a Donkey Kong Jr. cab, in my hometown, three miles from our house. Needless to say, the chief arcade fans in Colorado are Quicksilver and The Flash, and it did not make it into our garage.
Anyone remotely into arcade game restoration has to be inspired by this thread. The guy got the authentic pain code for DK and it looks out of this world.
Actually, I may have already linked to it, in which case I am losing my mind. Sorry! But if anyone finds an empty Donkey Kong cab, save that shit for me! We'll do lunch or something.
