Defcon night results!

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

First off, I'd like to say that the game BOOTED me. The CPU took over my team and wouldn't give it back to me when I re-connected.

I will let Ben add a screenshot and say how the game went.

However, I did want to write this before we forgot:

Because I couldn't control my team, I was left to simply type stuff into the chat area. I think I was averaging, I don't know, a sentence every five seconds or so? hygraed eventually joined me in chat when it looked bad for him, so the end part of the game was Ben silently battling CPU-me.

Right at the end, Ben took the lead and the game ends. Someone else who was a spectator (called "[Joining]") says something to the effect of:

"Pinback, you suck, barely winning for all the shit you talked"

That was definitely the highlight.

The ONE TIME on the internet I'm not talking a giant fucking carrier-load of obnoxious horseshit, I get called out.

Well.

Karma?
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

I'll have more to say about Defcon Nite tomorrow, much like the major news networks had plenty to say about 9/11 on 9/12.

Defcom has a "white board" that lets you draw all over the map. What did I decide to draw all over the map? I took a screen shot!

Jonsey you should see someone about those issues. Were you hurt as a child?

In my defense, one of those was supposed to be a spaceship. Then I realized that I had drawn it poorly and made it fit with its brothers.

I also tried drawing a line and an explosion to simulate a nuclear strike that Pinner couldn't stop (before I realized that we can't see each other's whiteboards). Did that come through? I wasn't sure if that was evident or not. Actually, now that I think about it, the sole reason for doing that was to get him angry and have him flip his keyboard at the game, which probably would have only served to wake you up. So I guess it's good that the whiteboards don't show for everyone.

I would also like to state, for the record that society SEEMS to have no problem playing a game that glorifies nuclear holocaust, but man, sketch the cover art to Supertramp's The Schlong Way Home and all of a sudden you -- me! -- are a psycho! I wrote NOT_A_PSYCHO.EXE back in the 80s! It says I'm not right in the filename!
