I Challenge Flack (And Others) To A Game Of The Chess

Post by pinback »

I am excited about, but still continue to suck at, the chess once again. Flack's description of himself, as someone who can beat people who do not play regularly, but will lose to anyone who has devoted even a small part of their life to the game, matches mine so equally that I feel we would be a good match.

Alternatively, I challenge Grocer to a game of the CHESS, because thusfar in his game with Jonsey he has earned no question marks, so unless he's like really good and stuff, we would also be a good match. I forget if he said he was really good though. If he's really good then fuck it cuz-- ah, whatever, HIM TOO. I don't mind losing to him. Jonsey can annotate my game!

IT'S ON.

REPLACE THE CARS/POLITICS BASE WITH THE CHESS BASE.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

One day this BBS will be the brighest spot on the Internet. And when that happens, you will be damned proud that I had the foresight to have a Politics/Cars base.

How do we play? Is there an iPhone app or something? Or are you tracking all your moves manually?

I am not that good. A few years ago I went through a phase where me and a buddy played a lot and I read a few books on tactics/strategy. I got about as far as understanding the intent of the openings, but never far enough to be able to play a bunch of different ones and know what they are.

Yeah, just plug the moves into your chess program of choice (Chess Titans, which comes with new windowses, is fine.)

If you embarrass me I will make it my goal in life to become proficient in the Nimzo-Indian and lay waste to this thread like Sherman wiping Meridian off the map.

I'm taking a wait-and-see approach to e4.

Since Jonesy is never going to move again I formally accept this challenge and await your first move.

Whoops! I think I logged in early in the morning one day this week and forgot. So I was looking for the green Mr Bandwidth or something and didn't see him, noting new posts. I moved, but the end is nigh.
