Last Night's Dream!

Post by Ice Cream Jonsey »

I had a dream that Ms Pac Man was redone by some hipper-than-thou (yet annoying-as-hell) company and had the game linked up worldwide, like those crappy bar games they give you a console for. So the mazes were all different. And the cost? $0.66. That's right, sixty-six cents. Which is by FAR the most annoying combination of change to play a video game that I can think of. To wit:

OK, you found your first two quarters. Great. Now you need a dime. They are tough to make out because they are so small. Now? Now a nickel. Whee! And ONE PENNY TO GROW ON.

Forget about having the correct change to play a game twice.

... that's all I got.

So is this like a dream journal now?

This is a journal of me KICKING YOU THE FAC-

No, I mean, it had to do with a "retro" video game. Imagine waves of custom Ms. Pac Man levels, Worm! And they are all connected through a nationwide network! And it costs $0.66 to play! Three lives!

OK, everything but the inane price could be doable.

But if you want a dream journal entry: I left my window open last night when I passed out into the depressing slumber of solitude that I enter into every night. There was a bird on the tree outside my window that would NOT SHUT THE FUCK UP. The most annoying chirp or song or whatever it is that I've ever heard. Well, I incorporated this data into the dream I was having this morning.

I had a dream that a cat was producing this sound. A cat that was the family cat or something where Danzaland (Chris) grew up once had kittens, and I remember that there were so many of them and that they were constantly in our way when we were over at Chris's house playing football or "smear the queer" or whatever it was we were playing. One kitten dropped by us, and Chris put his foot underneath it and then just basically flung into the air as high as he could. This produced levels of uproarious laughter in all of us.

Anyway, in the dream that I was having in the morning, it was a cat that was making that sound. And I was at the house that Chris grew up in. And we were trying to get the cat to shut the fuck up. We couldn't kill it because it was, you know, a cat.

When I drifted into consciousness and figured out what was going on, I shut my window and turned over to my deaf side. Problem solved. However, if I had any sort of firearm whatsoever, I would have removed my window screen, located the bird, and shot it to death. It deserved to die for simply being so annoying. (Or at least I thought when I was in that stage between sleep and wakefulness.)

I don't kill cats. If a cat is making an annoying sound, you don't kill it. You try to fix it. But I lack the ability to help a cat in medical ways in real life, much less some whack-ass dream.

If it had been a bird (in the dream) and I knew it was a bird ... and a dream, I would have found a way to shoot at it.

Is a dream-bird's death worth me getting some decent sleep? Yes. A cat in a dream's death? Evidently not, judging by how that cat did not meet its maker. Which I guess, since it was in a dream, was me. Therefore it did.

Wait, what are you asking me, really?

Really? Which one?

The only dream I never really ever forgot has to do with games. Diana Ross was in a shopping cart singing as Mario and I tried to jump on her head or something. This was all based in my old school cafeteria. Oh, she was like six but her hair was fully matured. Always wanted to lucid dream ... never could.
