No offense to anyone with a dickbutt tattoo, but it would not be a good look for me.

This has gone on long enough. Roody Yogurt entrusted me to build him a fresh PC using parts that he had acquired. It has been several months since I said I would do it. There was a major problem with the power supply we purchased (well, he purchased it, but it was sent to my house and I recommended it) -- it fried the motherboard. I have since taken my old Windows XP machine and reconfigured it to use the new video card, sound card and hard drive he brought to the table.

I am tired of not being able to set and finish goals for myself. I am currently re-installing Ubuntu on it. As long as there's no Ubuntu bug that goes like "On version 10 it blows up motherboards" we're all good. But EVEN IF it does that, I will scramble and get it configured correctly and shipped. I'm not fucking around here.

My girlfriend has a couple tats (oh yeah!) and she has been supportive of me getting one if I ever chose to do so. Here's a picture of dickbutt:

Eh, no worries, man. I'm so broke right now that I can not even reimburse you for any of the shipping, so there's really no hurry on it.

The shipping, hopefully unlike the dickbutts, is on me.

UPDATE! It finished installing and updating Ubuntu. I am going to leave it running over night. If all goes well I just need to install the sound card and ensure that the SATA connectors are all installed and I'll ship it out.

UPDATE! It passed the stability test. I just gotta put the sound card in and ship it and my flesh remains unscathed.

Christ, I fucked this up. Does anyone know if FedEx will box an item up like a computer and then do the shipping?

I don't know about FedEx, but there are random shipping shops all over the place that will do it for you. The last time I posted a computer for sale on Craigslist, I had a guy from California contact me wanting to buy it. I said I'd take it over to one of those shipping places (the one around the corner from me is called "Box-O-Rama," I think) and they boxed it up and I want to say boxing and shipping together was like $30.

In preparation for the tattoo, Robb has been practicing his skills on random arcade games that allow you to "draw" your initials using a virtual "sword" ...

Would Robb mind giving us an update on the tattoo? Does Rooty get to choose where it'll be permanently etched on his skin? Burning questions that must be answered.

I will again tackle this project this weekend. The thing is right next to my front door, taunting me, and has been there for weeks.

When we were on vacation I spotted a store called 'Going Postal'. I would choose that over UPS and FedEx any day.
