Most Anticipated Games of 2015-2016.

Post by pinback »

I'm extending this to 2016, because I know few of the games on my list will be released by 2015, and probably not 2016, so I shouldn't even attach a year to it. This whole thread is stupid.

I'll flesh it out in a bit, I just wanted to get it all out here so I don't forget.

Image
1. Star Hammer: The Vanguard Prophecy. This actually has a release date of June 4, and I've already played the beta, and it's wonderful. So, if nothing else, we get Star Hammer.

Image
2. Imperia. Crusader Kings in SPAAAAAACE. There is no way this will even make it by 2016, but let's be optimistic.

Image
3. Deep Space Settlement. Space RTS, developed by a GIRL. I'm sure there will be no drama about that, which is nice.

Image
4. Sovereignty: Crown of Kings. Already available on Early Access, something of a "Dominions Lite", which is good, because I will never, ever, ever understand Dominions Regular, and plus, Sovereignty has really good tactical/Panzer General-style combat.

5. The Witness. AAAAHHAhhahahrhewhrewhrewhwww

SPECIAL MENTION:

Image
That one roguelike/DF-like that I can't remember that even creates planets and moons in the world generation even though you never go there. What's that called?

EDIT: Ultima Ratio Regum. Yeah. That one.

Image
EDIT 2: AH FUCK. I forgot Ashes of the Goddamn Singularity, the Stardock-published RTS that I drunkenly paid $100 for the "Founder's Edition" of. God dammit. Okay, that too.

No, seriously. If agame doesn't cost 200 mil to make and 800 mil marketing budget, it's shit.

There are some games in early access that aren't really done, so I am including them.

That Shadownrun Boston game.

Satellite Reign (You can download nightly builds of this - as of February it was not remotely playable - this is the one closest to being done.)

Fallout 4 (Haven't seen the trailer. Bethesda or Obsidian developing it will be fine.)

The Bard's Tale IV (Hey, imagine how happy I am that this behemoth was announced while I am trying to get a BT/Wizardry-style game finished. Just great. Don't care still want to see it.)

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Love that it is the team that did Human Revolution. I'd been burned by the BioShocks to trust the team not the franchise.)

I also want Jizaboz to sell his North Korea game through Indie Game Stand.

Star Hammer is out! I got 25% for being a beta tester!

It's $18, and it's excellent tactical starship combat, so go get it.
