Sucks, a third character not coming back to the upcoming King of the Hill series.

What is it with that show? I think Babylon 5 is the only recent show I know that has had more major actors die since it aired.
Johnny Hardwick
Tom Petty (not a surprise)
Brittany Murphy (not really a surprise)

Why was Brittany Murphy not surprising?

I always knew that Brittany Murphy would die of pneumonia. Always looked like one of those types.

Neil Rogers, good Rochester boy, often spoke highly of him. Which is pretty good, cuz Neil rarely spoke highly of anyone.

Yeah, big surprise there. Though in Hollywood "pneumonia" is code for drugs.

Which drugs? Huh? She was a real Prozac and cold medicine addict? Izzat it? Couldn't get enough of them anti-inflammatories? Had that nasal spray bottle in her nose 24/7?

I realize if people on the internet are convinced someone was a drug addict, there is no way to argue with them. But you either believe the reported facts or you don't.

Nope. He made it to as close to 100 without going over.

(I came up with that joke and so did 1,000 other people. Low hanging fruit.)

Ah. Joe the Plumber. I am not going to give anyone a hard time who died of cancer.
On October 16, Wurzelbacher appeared on Your World with Neil Cavuto on Fox News. Neil Cavuto asked if Wurzelbacher was persuaded by Obama's plan. Wurzelbacher said that he was not and that he was more frightened upon hearing it. Wurzelbacher suggested that Obama's plan was socialist in nature.
Goddamn socialists.

Here's a GoFundMe clone for Joe the Plumber where large groups of people can send money to help Joe and his wife during the stretch of time when he was too sick to work.

There was a time in my life, about a year or so, where I listened to virtually nothing else but Jimmy Buffett. Perhaps I started out trying to capture the party/Carribbean mood he was such a purveyor of, but never could, so I kept trying, and it made me feel good to think it was possible. But then some of them would just hit me in my heart, and make me feel emotions I didn't think I was capable of.

That's trailed off in the 20 years since that time, but I dabble back in now and again when I need it.

I reviewed my list of Ten Best, and each one gave me chills as they started to play. He's most famous for drunken redneck songs and making billions off of them and opening restaurant chains and tequila brands and whatnot. But before all that, god damn could that man write a song when he wanted, and make the world just seem better and more poignant and more lovely than you thought it was before.

I've never put a parrot on my head, but I'll always be a fan.

Later, Jimmy.

Italian man dies after being crushed by thousands of wheels of cheese

CNN, August 8
Image
An Italian cheesemaker died on Sunday after being crushed by thousands of rounds of Grana Padano cheese in the aging room of his factory in Bergamo, northern Italy, local authorities said.

Giacomo Chiapparini, 74, had entered the aging room to check the automatic robot used to clean the cheese rounds during the aging process in his company’s warehouse, according to the Bergamo Carabinieri.

At the time of his death, there were about 10 corridors of floor-to-ceiling shelves with approximately 1,600 rounds per corridor.
