Jackie Chan? I don't get it.
Am I a hero? I really can't say. But, yes.

That's twice now that Social Media has let me down. First Ron Jeremy and now Jackie Chan. See if I ever unblock the advertising frames on FB again......

I have an odd feeling that each one of us will have their picture added to this thread at some point in the future.

Now we got cartoon characters dying off. Maybe they'll do a remembrance episode, or something.

My Facebook wall is filled with people lamenting the loss of Lou Reed. Many of these people are people I knew in high school. One in particular is a girl who called me a devil worshiper in high school and wrote in my yearbook that the New Kids on the Block could kick Motley Crue's collective asses. I suspect half of these people can only name one Lou Reed song and the other half can't even name that one. It is entertaining to watch "the popular kids" from high school reinvent themselves on Facebook.

Anyone who comes out claiming Lulu (that piece of shit project that Lou Reed did with Metallica) was a stroke of genius is getting a punch in the mouth by all the colored girls doing "do, do do, do do, do-do-do-do..."

This is what I've been thinking all day.

The only reason people think Lou Reed is a genius is because they likely don't listen to Lou Reed.

The first time I was exposed to that song it was because our local zoo had an animal exhibit called the "wild side" and so they ran commercials for our local zoo using the song. As far as I know this was to advertise the animals and not colored girls or transvestites.

If you really want to see Lou Reed roll over in his grave, let him know I prefer Motley Crue's "Wild Side" song to his.

It's been a week or so since he's posted. Maybe someone needs to check his apartment.

South African Prisoner #46664

Post by Tdarcos »

The man who was known in South Africa as prisoner #46664 has since died at the age of 95.

Everyone else knew him as Nelson Mandela.

Mac McGarry died today at the age of 87. McGarry was the host emeritus of "That's Academic," the longest continuously running quiz show in the United States. The show, which has continued with a new host since McGarry retired earlier this year, had been broadcast on Washington DC WRC-TV Channel 4 every Saturday morning for over 50 years with McGarry as the host. He hosted over 20,000 episodes of the game show.

Some of the contestants who appeared on McGarry's show include Astronaut John Glenn, and future first lady Hillary Rodham. One of the cheerleaders who appeared on the show was Sandra Bullock.

At one time McGarry hosted both the Washington DC show and a version which ran in Baltimore.

I realized after I posted this that it was wrong. I misread the caption on the photo from Channel 4's website. It should have read that he had over 20,000 contestants on the game show.
