Not only was Tom Wolfe's Bonfire of the Vanities not a good book, I've heard the movie was terrible. Apparently even Bruce Willis phoned it in.

It was so bad George Lucas had to step in and reign back the budget!

The movie version of Bonfire of the Vanities is utterly amazing in how much money they wasted to absolutely zero effect. 2nd AD spent OVER A YEAR trying to get a shot that was only possible on ONE fucking attempt on ONE mathematically calculated day, then they cut all but 9 seconds of it. Looks like shit. Read The Devil's Candy and then give it a watch while drunk. The drunk lady's boobs literally change size between scenes.

While I did not recognize him, the Pong cabinet correctly allowed me to guess it was Nolan Bushnell.
