Watching it with that context really freaked us out and we ended up hiding our (paper labeled, staticy) VHS copy because we were worried we'd get into trouble. It kind of ruined other "found footage" horror films such as Blossom of Flesh & Bone as well as The Blair Witch Project because they weren't nearly as extreme and it was obvious that even in comparison, they were staged.
